The town i live in has a couple new (09 i think) D-max 3500 dually dump trucks. I was talking to one of the guys from the DPW about them and he said they are a piece of garbage. They plowed with them for one season and the frames are folding in half! he said the doors are hitting the fenders and everything b/c of it. basically a 1/2 ton truck with dual wheels. Town bought them b/c they were cheaper than fords. The state dot however is phasing out the chevys and buying all fords. Just ges to show that Ford really does make a better product.

Chevy's folding in half is nothing new..
there was a TSB issued in '92 or so about the new generation truck bending behind the cab if lifted by the spring perches rather than the rear diff with a two-post front/rear hoist.

the frame on the 2500 I had was massive and nothing like the 1/2 ton

so if it's failing it isnt because it's wimpy,, more likley it's a design flaw

now the GM IFS is 1/2 ton junk on a HD truck
