Awesome , I just saw an early 80's F150 done like this . It was a complete P.O.S. and had huge brand new stacks and a push bar and giant mud flaps , lol , it was great I thought for a min maybe it's been converted to a diesel , then with a big puff of smoke it started ............... rattle rattle rattle ,,, only it was just the exhaust shaking against the cab and smoke from blow by or leaking valve seals (kinda blueish) . As he took off it sounded like a 302 or an inline 6 . Hahahahahaha . It's one thing to have to drive an old truck (or even want to ) it's a whole other thing to do that to it .

Well if thats the case, he could cut off 1/2 an inch off it and have a scab on his back. Thats just awful.

Hey Smoky- I *think* the water is back on for most of the city, although I think there are still boil-water-notices in some areas. Thank goodness I don't actually live in Jackson anymore- I'm still only about 15 min away, and I don't work in Jackson either... It's been a mess!

For those of you who don't know- I know you guys up north are really gonna love this one- we had about a week of freezing temps down here a week or two ago. Anything below 35°-40°F is parka weather!! No kidding, they were "predicting" snow and maybe some ice... before the FIRST snowflake hit the ground, they had already announced that the entire city school system would be closed and the Governor had already declared a state of emergency! :lmao It did get down to about 15°F and stayed below freezing for about 72 hrs, but no real snow or ice to speak of. Well the low temps busted about half of the pipes in Jackson (something like 150-200 line breaks), resulting in all state/fed offices, restaurants, and schools being closed for 1-2 weeks while repairs were made..... Gotta love the bass-ackwards way the city is run! :rant :dunno :dizzy

I went to the office Tuesday and then left to go to Starkville to work a few days and finally back home Thursday Night. It was a mess with all the repairs being made. Had to drive 45 minutes to wait in line to get a burger from people that had no running water to wash their hands.

My sister is moving to Jackson at the end of Feb . Her husband Runs jobs for a large construction co. and that's where there gonna be the next few years . She's excited , lives in downtown atlanta now and hates it .

Bad Night- tell your sister not to get her hopes up too much... I don't think there's much (if any) improvement over Atlanta. High crime rates, terrible roads, outrageous vehicle tags and property taxes, etc., etc.... other than that it's just "Peachy"! (Sorry, couldn't resist the Atlanta peach reference!) :lmao

Seriously though, there are *some* good things about this area, but Jackson's definitely nothing to get excited over! It's a much smaller city than Atlanta so less traffice/easier access, there's hunting/fishing/camping, loads of historical sites/areas, the Natchez Trace, casinos, we're half way between Memphis & New Orleans (be careful in those cities too! :sly ), etc., etc....

Guess it's like any place- it's all about what you make outta your situation!

I'll let her find all that out . She doesn't have a choice so I don't want to stress her . As far as crime she lives on a block now where there are robberies and murders every day . She has her Concealed Carry Permit and is one hell of a shot not to mention mean , lol .

Yeah, no need to upset her... and who knows- she might find a nice little place and not have any problems! As far as the "mean marksman"... we need more of those around here! :innocent :sweet

Friday afternoon I went by my old house in Jackson to find that the neighborhood thugs that live directly behind the house had broken the window to my shop. :rant They weren't able to climb in, and didn't get anything so I loaded everything in the back of the truck and nailed full sheets of plywood over the windows in the inside. Now if/when they break in all they'll find is some scrap wood on the floor! :tounge

They have pushed the fence down and now use my backyard as an escape route when they do their neighborhood raids. It was nice and quiet for a while after they were arrested a couple of months ago for heading up a large drug ring and kidnapping a man, but somehow they were bailed out and are running the streets again??? The cops know who's doing it, but can't do anything unless they catch 'em. :( I just wish I could catch 'em! :innocent :guns:
