I am amazed only one mention of this event on dec 1941, by the big three news folks today

its probably why sept 11 th is going off to the umentionables pile as well,
just not politically correct anymore ???

i think its because there is much more "now" issues going on today that people forget about yesterday. iraq, iran, russia, korea, obama, hilary, CIA tapes, omaha gunman, uganda ebola outbreak, and other FUN things like that.....the news is flooded with it all and just like you said.....pearl harbor got one mention on my morning radio show.

personally i wish hollywood would get "pearl harbored" so it would stop cluttering the media with all the BFS that goes on with those a-holes. then we may all be better informed of what happened today, and today in 1941.

i dont care about brittany's hoochie hanging out, or paris going to jail, or why angelina and her dad dont talk....does anyone else?

A BIG FAT >>YES I AGREE<<to ALL the above.

As I said in another current Post.. I hold the MEDIA partly responsible for the Omaha thing. Pearl Harbor doesn't sell Air Time or News Print anymore. Some poor sole that takes out 8 innocent people, in a Mall, during Christmas (YES, CHRISTMAS, not the Holidays, X-mas.. CHRISTMAS) Does.

That's Wrong.

Our family went to HI back in 1986 and Pearl Harbor was one of the places we visited.

It was a very humbling experience, even as a 15 year old.

Being out there on the memorial, above the USS Arizona, seeing the oil still leaking upto the water's surface, and all those names of the ones that died in service was very touching.

Every Time I went thru "Pearl", when I was on active duty, I went to the Arizona Memorial. Every Time.

To Me, and many others, It ranks right at the TOP, along with ALL Memorials that Honor those who have fought, and died for what we have, and who we are.. Today.

But for me personally ? The Arizona ? has a Special Meaning. It's a Special Place.

You stand Astride, but yet, On-board, The Real Deal. A US NAVY Battleship that is still, A Ship of the Line. With 1200+, Soles on board. Still Serving, with Pride and Dignity.

Pearl Harbor, Ford Island, Kaneohe Bay, Hickam AFB. Put up A Gallant Fight... But The Enemy ?.... Woke The Sleeping Bear.

THERE. The Big 3 barely mentioned December 7th, 1941. But I hope I said something, albeit a bit late and personal, in remembrance.

(If you ever visit Hawaii, or go there again ? And you didn't go the other time(s) ? Take time for the Arizona Memorial. I swear you'll go away with a bit of a different take on things. As Bama said: Humbled)

I was stationed at Wheeler AFB the day that four AT6's painted up as Zeros strafed the field. Replica P-40s were getting blown up on the field. What I found out was the movie "Tora, Tora, Tora was being made. A couple of days later, I was flying from Wheeler to Pear Harbor and was vectored away from the AT6s while they were bombing the harbor.
It was eerie and very weird.
