I use 5W40 Rotella Syn in my truck and have been using it fir about two years now. You have to check the grade of oil to see it it is CH-4+ for our trucks.

Dave, I'm not sure, but isn't the latest grade oil for our trucks CI-4+?

Fill the crankcase with Rotella T 15W40

Just turned 58,000 miles on my truck

I've had good luck mixing the 5y-40 syn rotella and the dino rotella 15w-40 at a 50/ 50 ratio.

Yes it is. It was a bit early for me to remember that technical stuff.

Thanks.

I use a 36mm socket I bought at Sears, it was like $6 or $7. Use an extension also, keeps the fuel from running down your arm.:sweet

how many miles do you guys usually go on each oil change :dunno

i dont know when it started either w/ the 6.0 or the 2004...but your
owners man. will say 7500 (or at least thats what mine says)...

ive been doing my changes at 5k (or as close as i can...w/ some being
6k or even a little over that)...personally i like the "round number" of
5k...its easy to keep track of on the odometer.

BUT...that being said ive also tested at EVERY single oil change (nutz
probably)...but when you consider its only 18bucks to test & i do
the work myself (costco oil & filters from the net) even w/ the price
of blackstone-labs testing im STILL way ahead of the price game.
