Although I make it a point to fuel up at busy diesel locations to get the freshest fuel possible, I would like to see the day diesel stations nationwide post thier cetane numbers on the pumps like gas stations due. I have always heard most diesel is 40-45 cetane and some can be as high as 50 cetane?

To my knowledge the on highway Diesel pumps at trucks stops have the highest available cetane fuel, the pumps will have a decal indicating it's 500 PPM fuel which is preferred/acceptable for up to 2006 Diesels.

Thanks CHP, didn't know that. I have always heard some diesel pumps have the 50 cetane.

all the diesel I get here in tampa is 50 cetane ULSD. Posted right on the pump. My truck runs best on Shell for some reason, good thing they're the cheapest around currently.

I guess certain states such as Florida post the cetane rating on diesel pumps. Be nice to see that in my neck of the woods. I can't understand why it's not?
