I called around today for Air Filter pricing, for my AIS set-up... The local "Big Box" Ford Dealer Parts.. was the Cheapest :eek:.. by $30.00 :eek:

The Parts guy said they (don't know if thats FOMOCO) are trying to be more competitive, these dayz. (with a laugh)

:sweet

If there are other sources for an AIS replacement filter elements other than Ford, I'd sure like to hear about them for future reference.

I'm sure there are TG.. All 4 places in town had them.. but wanted dang near 100 bucks, OTD. Prolly could have got one cheaper On Line.. but with what UPS, USPS wants these dayz.. what the H**l.. Got it for 70.?? OTD from the Dealer. Done deal.

FWIW ? Without going to my Maint. Log, I'm guna say I had about 25K on this filter.. Drop cleaned, and back flushed (air) @ each oil change.. Just fer giggles I cleaned it... got a palm full off fine, Talcum powder like dust out of it.. along with the usual bug parts & chaff.. I really think I could of used it again !

Inspected the intake horn : Absolutely Spotless.

But... with a 12,000 mile Road trip, in that 25K.. Makes me feel Warm'n Fuzzy knowing thee 'ol 2K has a New "Respirator Element" installed on'im. ;):)

Some dealers are serious about being competitive. My local dealer beat everyone else to death on wheel bearing and ball joints. I got 2 uppers, 2 lowers, 2 axle seals, and 1 wheel bearing for under (barely under, $590) $600. If its a part they know is not available aftermarket all bets are off......

Ain't that a Donaldson filter? I remember poking around on their web site and finding the part number for the AIS Ford filter but didn't print it out.
