Can VIN Tell How Truck was Optioned?

Thanks for the link and feedback everyone. The VIN decoders give all the big stuff, but I was trying to see if I could get info like trim packages, wheel/tire options, upfitter switches, Tow Command, etc.

I've been searching for my replacement truck and have to keep asking about these type of options and I was thinking I'd seen something a long time ago that would give more detail from the VIN.

Actually just made a deal last night on a loaded 2005 F350, XLT, CC, LWB. Won't be able to pick it up for a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

xlt isnt exactly "loaded"...

The VIN does just give the basics, a build sheet would show everything that truck has as options, trim, and so on.

I have seen some XLT's that had a ton of options, so there is the possibility of one being loaded so to speak.
