So I was reading the paper today, when I come across a story of a couple of people that were killed a couple days ago for watching the World Cup on TV. Seems a few Muslim extremists decided that this man and teenage girl needed to die because there was no TV in the days of Mohammed, and therefore, they should die for watching TV.
They used AK 47’s to kill the couple….
Apparently, Mohammed had AK 47’s in 621 AD, so that must be okay….
Seriously, though, is there ANYONE that understands the threat that extremists like this truly pose? Am I the only one that truly sees World War Three looming on the horizon? These are people that will kill you on a whim, based on a twisted interpretation of a centuries old, extremely violent book, and it seems that all we can get out of the vast majority of the populace is criticism of the people that are actually DOING something to try and stop them.
They hate Bush, who, along with a select few others, is the only one with the cojones to actually do something and take a stand. Whether he did the right thing or not is certainly up for debate, but the fact is that at least he did SOMETHING!!!!
They hate Israel, who, to date, has NEVER committed an act of aggression unless provoked, and has acted in self defense every single time it’s come to arms. They get criticized for the way they complete their campaign, or that they “go too far” and present disproportionate responses. I say, good for them. We all need to begin making the penalty for hateful violence so terrible and disproportionate that no one would dare ever try it. They are attacked daily, and seem to show MONUMENTAL amounts of restraint in their responses. The most recent developments are perfectly proportionate to what was done to them. I would hope my President would have the cojones to do the same thing for me if I were ever kidnapped by bloodthirsty, beheading savages.
The rest of the pansies running the civilized nations of the world are too worried about offending Muslims to actually take a stand and put a stop to the violence that the extremists dole out daily.
I am also wondering why you do not see more people in Islam demanding these extremists to stop killing in the name of their God. If Christians ever started doing that again, you can bet there would be a SERIOUS response on the behalf of the rest of the Christians of the world decrying such acts.
Can anyone help me make sense of this? Why does the world tend to see the BAD GUYS in this case as a kind of bullied, picked on class that needs to be protected, and the GOOD GUYS as ugly aggressors who are picking on these poor souls in the name of greed and oil?
I see the world’s denial in this matter in much the same way I see it’s denial of the Nazi problem in Germany 70 years ago. Only, this time, I fear that there will still be so many guilt-ridden pansies crying out to stop the racial hatred of the “poor, profiled Muslims” that it will be hard to get the job done this time. You can bet your butt that if you took the exact same events that are happening today and replaced “Muslims” with “White Guys” that you’d have every liberal in America beating down the door wanting to go to war. What gives? They talk about racial equality, yet see everything along race lines, and make every decision contingent upon the race of the persons involved. I don’t get it…
