HAD REPAIRS DONE DUE TO TURBO KICKING OUT UNDER EXTENDED LOAD...THIS IS WHAT THE SERVICE TICKET READ
CHECKED DTCs FOUND PO238 PO299 P2138 P2140, FOUND TSB 03-6-10 FOR P2138 AND 2140, REPROGRAMMED PCM WITH LATEST CALIBRATION, TEST DROVE AFTER CALIBRATION, RAN BOOST PRESSURE TEST, TURBO UNDERBOOSTING, REMOVED AND CLEANED TURBO PER TSB 06-23-2, REINSTALLED TURBO, TEST DROVE ,BOOST PRESSURE NORMAL BUT HAS SURGE ON ACCELERATION, FOUND VGT ACTUATOR FAULTY, REPLACED ACTUATOR, TEST DROVE, ALL OK

WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN? TRUCK SEEMS TO BE DOGGY NOW.

They cleaned your sticking turbo, reflashed the PCM, and replaced the Varible Geometry Turbo solenoid (controls the turbo vanes) .

I just had my check engine light come on for p0299 and my receipt says that they replaced the turbo as per tsb. My truck was running fine. They said the turbo problem was caused by lack of use. I have an 06 350 cc drw tow boss 4x4 and usually use it just for towing. I've had it for 14 mos and have 9500 miles on it. Does this sound normal. The turbo unit looks new does not look like a reman.
