I was referring to gifts from my wife. I have to count on mom and pops for the good stuff

I like the Sony Hi8 cameras as I keep the raw footage. I download the audio and video via Firewire to my Mac and can edit, add titles, dissolves, fades, etc. and make it look like a Hollywood production. I can then send it back to the camera. write it to a DVD burner in the Mac, or make a QuickTime movie of the event and share it on the net.

You can send a HI8 tape to the pc via Firewire? I should read the manual.

JVC 30gb internal hard drive camera, i bet it doesnt weight 3 lbs, usb port to computer or s video right into the dvd burner,
