i bought a coleman commercial HVLP from Mynards - to spray stain/varnish. gotta finish the rest of the house the previous owner did not. the gun instructions state best operated between 50-60 psi. i set the compressor to 50 but i believe i am getting to much spray mist (imho-seeing i've never done this b4) - does that make sense? i have found a great spray pattern but here is my main question: can i lower the psi to eliminate excess spray? will it still function o.k. under the psi of 50?

here is the psa of the day: please wear your face mask. my boogers are now red oak colored... :roflmao

:thanks for replys!

You can lower the pressure a little to keep overspray down but remember it'll go on thick so keep movin so u dont get runs. Try 45 then 40
