yippee!!!

Got the license today, so I'm legal for another year:rolleyes:

Pleasant surprise, instead of the windshield sticker being a hideous construction yellow like last year, it is now a pleasantly hideous orange color. -mad

I feel it only fitting to give credit to the great state of Kalifornia for the fast and efficient service processing my application. Only took 3 weeks from the time they received it till I got my sticker. Considering I am 1 day by mail from the CDFA office, thats probably a state record. It probably helped that I used a cashiers check as recommended to speed up the process:roflmao

It's $100 for the license, plus $75 per transport vehicle, and now also whatever additional cost for the $1m insurance (avg $300-400 yearly).

Little wonder most WVO and Bio makers out here choose to ignore the law and collect oil without the license. Fine for the first offense (if you're caught) is only $500 assuming you have the restaurants permission, although if theft is involved then it's another story.

If you think that this is ridiculous, wait until they start trying to collect road tax on fuel that is not sold at the pump. Laugh if you will, but the British have been after people for it. IIRC, it's an 'on your honor' system where you keep a log of gallons fueled and make payments based on that.

What about a collection coperative? If i read it right, its $100 + $75/vehicle. Bonding might be an issue with too many parties, but a non profit could be set up with members..who pay the fee.

On the Biodiesel forums and burnveggies maillist there has been talk of doing a co-op, but none have actually formed that I know of. I think most at this point are just ignoring the license regulation. Alot of fear of the snowball effect, like you mentioned, of more taxes and such coming out of the woodwork once you're on radar. Then theres the EPA and using a non-approved fuel, etc...
