Is it just me or does it piss you off that these people expect the federal government to declare them a disaster area and provide relief. They haven't been able to buy insurance for over 10 years (since the last mudslides). I just don't see that my tax dollars should go to bail them out.

We have the same problem here along the mississippi where morons keep building on the flood plain and can't get flood insurance anymore . . .

UGGGG!

Nope.... It aint just you. I have absolutly NO sympathy fot those folks. (and thats get'n to be the feelings of many, out here, who build on Stable ground)

Saw one guy on the local news..... He thinks that because the city/county issued the building permits... >THEY< are responcible for his house falling of the cliff.... it's his 3rd house, in the same area. 1st one slid down a hill cuz of rain/mud slide, 2nd one burned up in a grass fire, latest one (Monday) slid down the hill cuz of un-stable ground.

What ever happened to personal responcibility :dunno

EGGNOG!

Just wait until the huge caldera blows Yellowstone sky high leaving a foot of ash as far east as the Atlantic seaboard. Does that make everyone living east of Wyoming covered for volcano ash insurance?

I just saw on Foxnews this morning that the neighbors are now blameing this one house that was built. Evidently the pilings were not put in right and it had cracking all over so no body lived in it, they say it slipped and pulled the hill with it. You wont find too many of us out here in the flat lands with any sympathy for these people. After seeing people that have very little money lose everything in tornadoes or floods, its hard to have any sympathy for people with multi million dollar houses complaining like this.

I think the thing that bothers me the most is the personal responsibility thing. If I drive my car without insurance and get hit by another uninsured driver I can't count on the government to bail me out . . . why should these people? Oh well, I guess there's nothing I can do about it other than not pay my taxes and I know I won't win that one. :)
