Since I sold my 99 F-250 and got my 2011 GMC Duramax, I have obviously been spending some time on a few Duramax forums. I though I'd share something interesting I found out about with all my old SDD.com buds.
Something I found out on one forum, was about 4 note horns that were used on Cadillacs that sound just like train horns. Since they are electric, there is not the hassle of trying to mount a compressor and a set of horn trumpets.
ELECTRIC CADILLAC TRAIN HORNS
There are several people on E Bay that salvage the horns off of old Cadillacs, recondition them and then sell them as a 4 horn, 4 note set. I just scored a set for my 2011 GMC. While not quite as loud, they still sound good, will be a lot easier to install than a full blown set of air horns and a lot cheaper too.
