Yeah Verizon Fios is AWESOME !! I went from dial-up to 5Mbps. WOW! I'm spoiled now. And Wylie,Texas was one of the first areas of the country to get it . That was odd I thought.

FTTP (Fiber to the Premise) is a BIG push with Verizon and VERY expensive, but something they are trying to do to make inroads into the costly cable company monopolies....

The reason the metroplex got it early is that Verizon is made of of the former Bell Atlantic and Former GTE who's corporate offices are in Irving...
(and for what it's worth, most of the technical innovation came from the former GTE side so they did it here early on)

Just another reason why we want to relocate to nearby Wylie is due to the big Verizon rollout in that area and there's many Ford Diesel owners as neighbors

I moved here in 1997 and there were 9000 people. I think the last check was 30,000 in 2003, he better hurry or it all be schools and roads.
