busted parts- a little advice

ok well if a piston smacked a valve you might be looking at a bent rod as well.as far as improvements there aint much needed.stronger springs is about it.im still running the stock valve train in mine with no problems.ive floated the valves a few times but no damage yet.

Yeah, thats my basic assessment too, there really isnt a whole lot of goodies you need to put inside the 94-97 7.3L's to beef them up. The top end is pretty good and the bottom end is really good. As Rich mentioned you might have bent a connecting rod in the fiasco. If you want to even look at the bottom end you know that means pulling the engine.
