Just a quick update. Installed the dynatrac hub conversion kit over the weekend and it seemed to fix the problem. I went ahead and ordered new new knuckle-to-spindle studs and new nuts from ford (about $25-30 total from dealer), put in some new steering axle ujoints ($55 each from carquest!), and also bought 2 new inner axle shaft outer dust seals ($30 ish from napa).

The install was fairly straight forward. Was lucky enough to use a heated enclosed storage garage of a friend of my father in laws to do the install. Good thing because it's been in the teens and 20's this past week and it is only getting colder.

Just driving it this past few days the steering seems a bit easier. It seems to steer smoother with the 35" tires without the extra drag because the hubs are free spinning.

The total cost was about $1900-$2000 when it was all said and done, but it should pay off in the long run for sure without having to replace those POS hub assemblies every 12-18 months at $600-$700 per pair.
