Hi all i have a cpl of questions.I was driving my truck home today and noticed a burning wire smell im the cab.I pulled over and checked my wiring to my sterio amps and everything was ok there and they were not hot.
I have been having some electrical troubles with my dash lites and park lites.I cant seem to keep the fuses from blowing.I thought i had the problem narrowded down to my trailer harness.I know this is not the problem because i un installed it and im still having the same problem.
Anyone know if ford is having problems with their wiring harnesses and is anyone else having the same or similar problem as my self.
My production date of my truck is jan 04
I called ford and they tell me they arnt having any wiring issues. But who bleieves what the dealers say hahah.

A friend of a friend described a burning smell in his 02 this weekend while pulling his camper to Texas Motor Speedway. He pulled the truck over, got out and up in flames it went. Melted the the wheels off it, total loss.

Do some searches on intermittent windshield wiper malfunctions. I remember seeing a recall on these because of fires but I do not remember what years were affected.

I don't know if the 04 had the cruise control recall but many fords have that problem. The button sticks on the steering wheel then overheating and catching fire

great now I'll be paranoid.. I've smelled something cooking in the cab once or twice, but nothing odd has happened yet. I'm kinda wondering if it isn't some of the undercoating I've had put on...

Speaking of wiper trouble.I cant get my washer fluid to work hmmmm interesting. When i had my truck into the dealer they told me there were no outstanding recalls on my truck. If it burns on the side of the road ill be pushing away the fire department heheheh Ill get more for it than i paid NOT .Ill try looking under the dash and see if there is any thing giving some sigh of burning. After all the work i put into my truck id hate to have it burn.
