bully dog intake

I have a 2004 f 350 and was just wondering if anyone uses the bully dog rapid air intake, and if you would recommend it, if not what would recommend.

First off Welcome to SDD.com

What all do you have done to your truck? The stock intake has been proven good for up to 500 RWHP, and is very good.
Personally I would tell you to save your money, unless you are or plan to be making some serious horsepower.

all i have done to it right now is a silverline 4in turbo back system just looking to get some more power out of it.

I highly doubt you will see any HP gains at all, just from switching an intake. I know a guy who writes articles for several diesel magazines (8-Lug, Diesel Power, etc...) and he did dyno testing with several different air filter combinations, and found that he actually lost power with most of them. I'm not sure which ones he tested other than stock and AirRaid.

If you want more power, I would suggest getting a Cat delelte pipe, that will help your turbo spool quicker, and beyond that it just depends on how much power you want and how much $$$ you are willing to spend. The most bang for your buck is a programmer, such as an SCT X3 with custom tunes.

thanks for the info i have the cat delete pipe in right now and it definitly helps the turbo spool quicker. I will look into the sct x3 programer iv also herd bad things about them with your tranny but i guess its all how you adjust it.

The SCT X3 is proabably one of the best tuners out there, for your transmission, and for HP.

along with the added turbo wear, on the vanes, from the added dirt and dust let through the aftermarket (louder) intake. If you want more whistle get an 03 turbo, or have a 03 style 10 blade compressor wheel installed. Or if you want to wear your turbo out faster, then I guess that's up to you.

iv already lost one turbo locally it was under warranty, i dont feel like blowing another becouse of dirt and **** getting through.
