I have had a similar problem in the rear of my SD when I stop suddenly and the rear wheels slide slightly on sandy or wet streets. I run my tires at max pressure 65psi because mostly I use it for towing and without a load they slide easily. I think my foot is too heavy on the brake sometimes and the antilock system is causing the jumping in the rear of the truck.
You said you needed new tires and they may be sliding.
Just a thought.

Well, I got new tires, BFG A/T's and it still does it. I have a buddy that has a set of front rotors he took off of his truck. I may get them turned and try'em B 4 I spend BIG bucks on a new set for the front. But, I think some of it may be the ABS pulsing...but I don't really know what the hell it is.
Thanks again for all of the suggestions.

Why don't you try something first. I was having a pulsing feeling but it didn't really feel like pulsing. It was a different feel. I have the ARTs on my truck and wasn't happy with what I thought was an early failure.
So I followed the instructions, and re seated them. This consisted of 10, 60 to 5mph stops in a row with enough pressure on the pedal to come just short of the ABS kicking in. You will smell them smoking. Then it is a 10-15 mile drive to let them cool off. It made my braking smooth as a new system.
Worth a try.

you can always scuff the brake pads a little to remove the glazing...
I do this on motorcycles all the time.

you can scuff the pads lightly w/ a light application of some
sand paper or i always run 'em back and forth on the garage floor
a little if theyre glazed over.

JimmyDee is da man!!
I went out and tried his suggestion of making 8-10 HARD stops from 50-60mph and guess what??? No more 'bumping' when I brake, well at least so far... I wouldn't think the rotors or pads were glazed over as they are new. I told a friend about this, he races sports cars, and he said they use the same method to 'season' pads and rotors, kinda like breaking them in.
Well what ever it does has worked so far.
Thanks again everbody, this forum and the guys on it are GREAT!!
