Mark,
he's doing the rear drums. Are you suggesting a conversion? If so, how much would that cost for all of the various parts?

the cost for rear conversions depend on what you can fabricate and what you need to buy.

For me when I need new drums then it'll be the turning point that i'll do a rear disc conversion. I'm figuring about 300 when all is said and done, right now I'm collecting random parts from here & there. If you happen to get lucky '96 vans had disc brakes as an option and it's a complete bolt in deal.

Dave you're right all 99+ F-series super duty (f250 &f350) trucks got disc brakes. they also got a 10.5" rear instead of the 10.25" that we have.

Orielly's wanted 67.99 (Wagner) for their life time pads, Autozone wanted 19.99 (didn't get the name). Why the price difference?
Quality. Don't get the cheap stuff when it comes to pads..

jack up both sides, take both drums off and do one side at a time.you can run to the other side if you get lost.get a drum brake tool it will help with the spings.not as hard as you think they are.

you dont take the hubs off. all you do is slide the drums off the hubs and do the brake job.
