Question Brake pad advice, please!!

My 2000 F-250 PSD 4X4 needs new brake pads on the front. What kind of pads do you all recommend? I recently put a cheap set of front pads on my wife's '04 Accord. Her front rims stay covered in brake dust (the pads have been on there for 15,000 miles). I don't need super racing/heavy duty pads. I don't pull 20,000lb trailers and I don't drive hard, but I don't want a pad that leaves tons of brake dust on my rims. I'm thinking of contacting Ford and just getting the OEM. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yer on the right track then. OEM or the equivalent would be the way to go.

You might pay through the nose.. [from] a Ford Dealer Parts place though.

Find out who made the pads for your Year, Model.. and do some Comparison, Price Shopping ?

I'm using Hawk pads and love them. I did, however, put some new Cryo rotors on too. Stops soooooo much better.

Wagner makes Original Equipment type pads for almost everything that rolls. I have used them over the years and have been happy with they performance and the lack of heavy brake dust. All pads will leave some brake dust. Nature of the beast, but not excessive.

I used wagner for the longest and was happy. then i upgraded to the cyro rotors and hawk pads. had them for 3 years now and have been very happy

Anyone using the Duralast Gold from Autozone? How are these?

I have not used the duralast golds, but i know the cheaper the pads, the more dust and noise you get out of these disc brakes. Imo, you don't have to get ford pads, you just need to get quality pads form a quality parts house. I like napa, and O'reilys seems o.k. You don't want some crazy superstop pads unless your going to upgrade the rotors as well, just a high quality oem replacement. Usually their better or best brand.

Anyone using the Duralast Gold from Autozone? How are these?

I do. They are great for daily driving. not to bad with the dust, and a lifetime replacement. I have already burnt through a set and just walk in with the old ones and your phone number and you get fresh new ones.

Bad of them is they fade under a panic stop when towing. I overcome this by not following closely when towing.

Where did you guys get your cryo rotors? Which line of hawk pads? Did you get slotted, cross drilled or dimpled?
