Has anyone screwed with your trailer lights? This can be a cause of the Brake lights being on, a shorted wire at or near the trailer plug.

No DRL's Thanksbushpilot said:DRL's (daytime running lights) on your truck (if equiped)
are tied to the parking brake switch.
on DRL's equiped cars/trucks the headlights turn off when the
parking brake is set.
If you HAVE DRL's and the parking brake light is on, Im curious
to know if the headlights are on or off...if the lights are off then
id start looking at the parking brake switch...if your lights are ON
then id look at the master cyl. fluid level float/switch.

I'll Try that, Thanks, Rickbushpilot said:ok so the issue is one of two things its either the fluid level/float/switch
or the parking brake switch, those are the only things that will activate
the dash e-brake light.
i dont know which way the fluid level float switch activates (open = light
on OR closed = light on)...personally id try shorting the fluid level/switch
located on the master cyl. & see if that shuts the light off...but again
im assuming the light is turned ON by an open circuit...so im HOPFUL that
shorting or closing the circuit/switch will turn the light off & prove the
float/switch is defective).
I"ll Try that too, Thanks, Rick95_stroker said:The 94-97's werent equipped with DRL's that I am aware of. Have you checked the switch that the parking brake contacts?
