Welcome on coming back to TEXAS ...... hey at least you are getting here as fast as you can!
I second that!!
Hey Robert, when you're on your way back, you need to be playing Asleep At The Wheel's song "Boogey Back To Texas"!
"........Boogey back to Texas, eight beats to the mile........."

All good songs.

I've got the Asleep At The Wheel CD "Live At Billy Bob's", all their good songs are on it, including Miles and Miles of Texas. Several years back, I made my first trip west of San Antonio, going to Ozona to a job site with a former employer. After awhile on I-10, when I could see for miles, that song (miles and miles of Texas) was the first thing that "popped into my mind".

If you get a chance, get that CD and you'll really enjoy it.

Well
I'm a high straight in Plainview
Side bet in Idalou
An a fresh deck in New Deal
Yeah
Some call me high hand
An some call me low hand
But I'm holdin what I am…The Wheel
'Cause
I'm panhandlin
Man handlin
Post holin
High rollin
Dust Bowlin…Daddy
An I ain't got no blood veins
I just got them four lanes
Of hard…Amarillo Highway
Yeah
I don't wear no Stetson
But I'm willin to bet son
That I'm a big a Texan as you are
'Cause
There's a girl in her barefeet
'Sleep on the back seat
An that trunk is full of Pearl…and Lone Star
(chorus)
So
Gonna hop outta bed
Pop a pill in my head
Yeah, bust the Hub for the Golden Spread
Under blue skies
Gonna stuff my hide
Behind some power glide
An get some southern fried…back in my eyes
(chorus)
An close I'll ever get to heaven
Is makin' speed up ol' 87
Of that hard-ass…Amarillo Highway
- Terry Allen

One of my favorites, and another:

It was freezing cold in Dallas when I made my get
away,
I out ran a cold front, when I gave my truck the
reigns
Barrelin' down I-35 with one thought on my mind
Forget the race, find an open space, leave that city
far behind
Well hello there Austin, you look to be just fine
Pardon me San Marcos, but I'm a' tryin' to make some
time
There's a storm in my rear-view, and a city on my nose
There's a piece of mind in the straight-away, and
there's comfort in the curves
I didn't pull off in Von Ormy, like I norm'lly do
I went on down to Devine town, I bought a 6-pack or
two
I glanced back across my shoulder, like a seventh
season buck
All I saw was a wall of clouds, I hopped back in my
truck
Gutentoug, New Braunsvels, how are you today
Hola, ol' San Antone, please stand out a' my way
There's a storm in my rear-view, and a city on my nose
There's a piece of mind in the straight-away, and
there's comfort in the curves
Well I, I know that mother nature will catch me in the
end
But I'll put some miles behind me before I turn to
face the wind
Now don't ya' leave that barn door open, not even just
a crack
If I see a hint of daylight, you'll never get me back
Well, hello ol' Batesville, you remember me
And look out there La Pryor, but I'm coming through,
can't you see
There's a storm in my rear-view, and a city on my nose
There's a piece of mind in the straight-away, and
there's comfort in the curves
I say I'm barrelin' down I-35 with one thought on my mind
Forget the race, find an open space, leave that city,
that damn old city far behind
Leave that city way far behind

Follow the red carpet lined with the lighted beer cans. You know kind of like a runway or flight deck. On the way back listen to George Strait's song "I can't see Texas from here"
WELCOME BACK
