i have a 03 6.0 with a 62mm precision turbo. the question is. my stock turbo would hit 32psi and stop there. my new turbo also hits 32 and stops. it hits 32 athalf throttle at times.. im also running a STC with custom tunes, if the truck defueling for some reason once it hits that boost? i read a decent amount about boost controllers. that if the truck hits high boost the stok computer will defuell and if you add the controller it tricks the computer. are they a gimmic or they the real deal. is that even my problem?

I added a boost fooler to the MAP sensor...how much good it does:dunno

I did notice a drop in boost (but not power) when I up'ed my exhaust size. I think its because since the diameter of the pipe increased, it deacreased the velocity of the exhaast gas.

I've heard of some people plugging off the waste gate to build more boost. I've got a restrictor on mine.

Ford Powerstroke MAP Dual Boost Relief Valve++ 7.3L 6.0L Boost fooler

This is what I have, suggested by Bill at powerstrokehelp.com

1999-2003 7.3 Powerstroke BIGBOOST! turbo upgrade MPG - eBay (item 160387585294 end time Dec-10-10 12:07:44 PST)

I have a question, my boost gauge is plumbed into the line going to the MAP sensor BEFORE the boost fooler. So I should be getting the correct boost reading??

im also not geting a code either. just weird that with both turbos it hits 32 psi and stops. the rpms keep moving up but it sure doesnt pull up top like it does on the bottom.

Yes, you are seeing the Boost psi that is actually being built/supplied.... as you've installed it.

A Boost Pressure Relief Valve (BPRV) "Relieves" any Over pressures (installed that way) that would cause the MAP sensor to send an electronic signal to the PCM... causing It, to go to a Defuel mode (CEL too), in an attempt to reduce Over (out of design parameter) boost pressure.

As many say.. It Tricks, or Fools.. the MAP sensor.

They Are.. "The Real Deal" mxracer. JMO but yer boost issues might be Tuner related. And JMO..... 32 psi, sustained, long term, is Pushing... the design envelope of most any PSD ? :watchout ?

Naturaly.....Yer call though :dunno

Yea, I was thinking 32psi is pretty high for a daily driver (but what do I know:rolleyes:). I've hit it once or twice when I had my stock exhaust.

Could too much boost raise the valves into the piston(s)?

To much boost, sustained or... frequent, [could/can/will], "raise", or bring on, all kinds of Gremlins & Failures rammer.... not just in the valve train.

i also think it might be a programming issue. as the long tur running high boost.. thatonly happens when im hooked to the sled. witch doesnt help it at all but thats the longest i run at high boost. the tune i was talkign about befor really fueled a lot down low but didnt seem to have any on top? i have a different tune in right now that is from KEM and shifts much nicer pulls till the top with max boost around 29-30ish. i think it have a lot less timing in it also.
