Thanks guys! I took the two pipes from the turbo to the intercooler off today and cleaned / checked them for holes. They were probably at least leaking some because probably 6 out of the eight coupling ends had oily residue buildup... one with a lot on the driver's side intercooler connection.
It sounds quite a bit better now. I can actually hear the turbo whine
Still getting some surge on shifts from 1st to 2nd with the auto trans, though less than before.
Two quick questions:
1) On the inside of the intake tube after the K&N air filter there's a plastic housing (MAF??) that has quite a bit of oil/grime build up that I cleaned. Is this normal?
2) If anyone has a PDF or can email me how to remove the orange couplings procedure I would appreciate it very much! I can probably figure it out but would rather 'know' than guess and waste time with trial-and-error.
