Boost gauge

i was driving truck lastnight.. and my autometer nor my stock boost gauge werent showing any boost... well lil bit like 3psi, i check under the hood.. connection to map senor line is kinda cracked... thought it was ok.. started driving seems under powered too, so i started to worry, then i get home check line again.. and it was busted loose...at map sensor, so i taped it up lol with electrical tape... im right at about2000 rpm i floor it.. truck takes off awsome.. then big jolt foward.. the dam thing blew off, anyways i replaced the busted rubber connection fitting,

main thing i was wondering guys, if that map sensor line is opened up like that, and leaking, does that make u loose boost? im thinking it does.. just cuz when that hose blew off truck lost power... either way just figured id tell my dumb story lol it did get me worried i know im an idiot lol

Hey nascar,you are right, if that plastic line breaks or if its loose or tears you will loose power and have no boost. i had the same problem before.All i did was replace the broken boot and it solved the problem.

sweet... lol i was excited once i fixed it... i mean engine has been doing me awsome i have 54000 on it.. problem free.. and mileage is back up after got rid of the winter fuel, runs bout 17-20...

what kind of boost numbers you running?-popcorn

at best im seeing lil over 25 psi, most time its between 20-25

I can hit right at 34 psi. I tapped my intake cause i heard the map caused flittering or somethin or nother.
