When I strip the molding and badges off our shop thucks I use "adhesive remover" purchased from the local auto paint supply shop, since it will not affect the painted surface, and a plastic trim removal stick (hard, white plastic stick with "duckbill" ends for poking under the trim piece. Go slow and keep things clean to avoid grinding dirt and debris into the paint.

My mouldings on the truck have faded and I ordered a new kit to replace them from LMC Truck Parts: Chevy Chevrolet Blazer S10 GMC Jimmy S15 Ford Bronco Ranger Pickup Pick Up Accessories/Catalogs and I was wondering what the easiest way is to remove the existing ones without to much trouble.Any ideas?

I just read about this....the guy said to use a hair dryer and leather gloves and heat the adhesive strips up in front of your work...just rolls up in a little ball...pretty clean after that...just dont heat the paint up too much

as far as the moulding themselves....getting them off is a piece of cake with a good pair of pliers and some grunt work...my 8 year old daughter had fun with that chore...

The hair dryer thing works I used it on one of my old broncos. But like he said just dont heat it up to much or it can damage the paint. The glue should just roll off with a little rubbin otherwise a can of autobody prep should work fine just dont use thinner LOL.:thumbs
