We don't usually get temperatures below freezing, but lately it has been 2 - 3 deg. below freezing.

At what temps would you reccomend plugging the truck in?

I typically plug in 35F and below. Short drive to work for me where I won't start getting warm cabin air until I'm 1/2 way there if I don't use it.

Program for 2-3 hours before you need to leave. Much smoother start on the engine and helps oil get to the hard-to-reach area of the engine quicker. Warm coolant through the heater core much quicker.

It all comes at the expense of your elecrical bill - imagine running a curling iron (dead short) for 2-3hrs.

Hammer, here in Calgary most of us are not plugging in until -15 or so. That is if it is a newer truck.
