The plug for the block heater is exposed in the front of the vehicle,
beneath the grille. Vehicles equipped with a Diesel engine have the
plug exposed on the passenger side of the vehicle.

that SAID you likely did NOT get a cord....the CORD became an
OPTION on most superduty diesel trucks since about 2005.

the heating element IS installed in the block of EVERY diesel
engine from the factory...once you confirm that you are missing the
cord, you can buy the cord <cheapest> off the net (ebay and ford
parts retailers on the web)...your local ford dealer will have it for
considerably more than than the 25-30 bucks most are buying 'em for.

once you buy the cord...you can follow these directions (and photos)
routing the cord and installing it YOURSELF (saving even MORE money)...

you might wanna follow the link below for some ideas about using a timer
(saving some money on your utility bills, since the heater consumes
1100w). Block Heater Cord Re-Route & Timer Info

Don you know if all the late 06-07 6.0L's came equipped with the cord as if I recall only the northern states sold trucks came equipped with the cord.

I have that state list posted somewhere.

i dont...they may have....but ive seen plenty others complain about
not being able to find the cord.

in 2004 (when we got our truck) they had that "cold weather" list of states
that got cords...mine was a "virginia" truck...which was not listed as a "cold"
state....our truck should NOT have gotten the cord...although there was
indeed a cord installed on our truck ! :dunno

Look above the starter a couple of inches it should be there I got the cord at the ford dealer for $70.If you look between the fram and the inner fender with a light you should see it.

The cord was an option on my '06 PSD. Cost me $50, but it's right there where the pics shows it, used it last night when the temps go down to 22 degrees (yes, I know that's a positive number - we're from Alabama, we don't do cold....).

:lmao

anyone care to share where djack can buy the cord...

Seems to me its been mentioned:innocent Try Ebay....or Ford if you don't mind spending more...but I would just go to an IH dealer and tell 'em what you need. Bush, you got some patience. :lmao
