Have a question for ya'll. A buddy of mine has an 05 PSD and he was wondering if it came with a Block heater from the factory or if it was an option. Also with this cold weather he is having trouble starting the truck in the morning. It is spitting and sputtering and then dies. Takes about 10 mins to get the truck going down the road. Thanks for the help.:sweet :sweet

ALL 6.0's were built w/ the heater installed...some (depending
on where you live) came w/ the cord...the cord is typically zip tied
behind the bumper on the passenger side (it takes a little bit
of searching to find where the factory tied it)

i think NOW (regardless of where you are) the CORD is an
option.

heres how to ROUTE the cord (when he buys it) LINK

wheres your buddy ? texas ? unless the temp is in the teens or single
digits he shouldnt have to do anything (but wait to start)...id say
the truck needs to go in to be check...certainly shouldnt be dying

Hey Bush thanks for the post I knew that you would post. He is here in Willis with me. We are all drinking Beer:drink :drink and other alcholic beverages. :sweet :sweet The more that I think about the having trouble starting we are going with that the glow plugs are going bad. Thanks again Bush we are going to check on the block heater cord. :thanks :thanks

ive had ZERO problems starting mine despite our recent cooler weather.
and i havent plugged mine in since we moved here (over a year ago).

when i lived in virginia i plugged the block heater in when it was mid 20s
or lower...and even THEN it was on a timer, set to come on only 2-3hrs
before i had to go to work.

y'all enjoy yourselves...dont dui/dwi, stay put.

Thanks Bush. I have plugged mine this past week just because it has been cold. One of the guys is staying here and the wife and I are on the golf cart tonight. We live a block away so it is not so bad. He is going to take it in and see if it is the glow plugs. That is what we have come up with. I was thinking, we need to do something like what they are doing in Dallas. We need to get a Rally together with all of the Superdutydiesel members down here. What do you think? We'll have to see.

I had some friends that were gettin' hasseled in their golf carts by
the cops down in clear lake/kema...they ALL had to put license plates
on their carts down there...

im all up for a meet...ill be happy to help folks install gauges,
aux reverse lights, hi-idle switches, car audio, exhaust...got 1st hand
experiance w/ all those.

I dont have a TON of room here, but can help one or two at a time

That is the cool thing about here we live in a gated communite. The cops can't come in unless they are called. We are getting ready to build a new house. I am having a 3rd garage put on for my work area. I would just like to have a get together to meet everybody in our area and then run to different places. I need to find a dyno around town to run my truck to see what HP I am running. I am getting ready to order a SCT Flash programmer and I would like to see what my dyno is so I can get my Chips set right.

So you are telling me that I paid like a $100 for a cord here in TN. That figures. When I bought last year it blew me away that it was an option anyway.

the cord is available via "the net" and several sponsors....ive
seen the price for the cord run anywhere between 25 & 50 bucks
(roughly).

the heating element is installed in EVERY 6.0L block...the
hard part (heating element install) was done for us...just buy
the cord.
