a Buddy of mine has a 97 F350 cc psd and when he starts it up i the morning to go to work the left blinker is on until it has been running for about 5-10 minutes. he says when he turns the right one on it just looks like he has his flashers on and there is no way he has found out to turn it off other then to just drive it till it goes off by itself. what do you all think? thanks lee :thanks

Could be the multifunction switch in the steering column going bad. I have heard of people taking them apart and cleaning them with good results. Might try that before springing for a new one.

Good idea how does one go about not disturbing the air bag? or can the switch be accessed another way?

This here folks is a classic case of not checking the blinker fluid.

:D :D :D :roflmao :roflmao :roflmao

Seriously it's going to take some chasing of wires because something is shorting out somewhere and it somewhat sounds like it is shorting out to the GP circuit.

the signal light switch is totally separate from anything else. to change it you don't even have to take off the steeringwheel, unlike the 70's and older trucks. just a few screws and it unplugs from inside the steering column. take off the lower steering column cover and you'll see what i mean.maybe you have a bulb out somewhere on the truck. these things are weird, i had a signal bulb out and the torque converter kept unlocking everytime i used the signals while passing someone. good luck.
