Blew the back out of hpop

My truck died on the way home from work thursday morning, the shop says it blew the back out of the HPOP(not rebuildable), anyone ever heard of this before?
Now the fun part, the $2500.00 warranty I bought with the truck doesn't cover core charges...wtf. so it looks like I'm going to get f#@ked hard on this one. Any suggestions?

see if the warranty company will give you the cash and use it toward a good aftermarket hpop or a used one from a junk yard.


the back of the hpop will come appart, but yours is the first that has "blown out" I would suspect that there is a bit of exagguration going on and that all of the pieces that are needed for the core would be there because it would be hard for something to get out of the valley.

I'm guessing that you have had an oil leak in the valley for a while.

The back cover of the hpop is laying in the intake valley, and the guts of the hpop are hanging out of the back of the housing. The 3 mechanics said they have never seen one do that before, has anyone here seen that?
It didn't leak any oil prior to this.

I just changed mine due to oil spewing out the back of the "none serviceable part"! I got a new bosh pump for 675$ IT only took me two hours! It looks worse than it really is!

I took it to local dealer, they don't charge for cores, whoo hoo! All i paid was my deductable. Thanks for the replies.
