i just bought a house and it has oil heat. i was wondering if anybody has put homebrew bio into their home heating oil tank. i was also thinking of mixing a couple gallons of used motor oil per 100 gallons of bio into the home oil tank. am i asking for a disaster or may it work, with or without the used motor oil? thanks in advance.

Bio ok not sure about motor oil.
You will have to re tune the burner as BD is a little heavier than #2.
Might be Money well spent to have a pro come out and set it up.

I mixed straight homebrew with heating oil. The only reason I mixed was to maintain a low pour point in the winter. The only problem would be any natural rubber seals. I would run Bio until the seals leaked and then replace with Viton. It may be a little reckless but I ran it for over two years with no issues.
