Currently I'm running heated WVO after the truck warms up, and not biodiesel yet. Once I get a surplus of oil I'm going to try making Biodiesel for the warmup part of the journey.

Probably the hands down favorite homebuilt processor is Girl Mark's Appleseed Processor (which I'll be building). An old water heater and a few hundred bucks in parts and you're making biodiesel. There is a considerable amount of info on it, but the main plans are HERE at the colaborative biodiesel tutorial site. Girl Mark (Maria Alovert) also has a helpful handmade book available cheap that she uses for classes on processor building and operation.

B-100 in my 99 for about 1.5 yrs. (Exept when too cold) B-50 in the '06 since the day after I picked it up from dealer, about twelve hundred miles ago.
I am taking a 2,000mi trip next week and will be bringing drums of B-100 with me. Home brewed, I will try to attach a pic of the processor I make it in. I would like to know of anyone running B-100 in thier 6.0 and if they ever had any problems. OOPS! I see the photo is there, hope you are using a laptop so you can turn it sideways.

I just found a source near Lubbock for whatever blend I desire - they will mix it for me. I plan to go take a look around their facility soon before I buy any. I will start with B20 for awhile and then up it probably.

jdr01 - welcome. - fill out a sig line and let us know what you have and where you are.

This week we finally can get anything from B-100 to any blend you want in bulk. Minnesota has a manditory 2 percent bio but I want to try B-20. How long will it store for without going bad? Can you add something to help it keep for longer storeage? What is the lowest temp that I can safely run the B-20 to? I want to buy diesel now at a locked in contract price before it goes up.

B100 stores for a few months or considerably longer if you keep water out of it. The more exposure to air and moisture the faster it bio-degrades. There are additives in the commercial stuff but not available to the general public yet.

When mixed with diesel the diesel additives benefit both fuels as far as lowering gel point from what I've been told. A blend with winterized diesel can be used in winter, but as with diesel alone, it doesn't hurt to test a sample at the lowest temps you expect to see.
