I am looking to replace the tires on my truck and am looking at purchasing 6 new Michelin XZE radial tires for my 2003 F550. We are fulltime RVers and will be in the Rio Grande Valley until mid March. I have checked two places, one here in Edinburg and around the coast a bit in Beaumont, TX and the price per tire ranges before taxes and mounting from $338 to $379 per tire. How do these prices sound? High, low, or about right?

I forgot to mention that the prices quoted in my first post were for 14 ply tires, which obviously would be a bit higher than 12 ply ones. The size I am pricing is 225/70/R 19.5

id try discount tire. they have always had the cheapest drive-out price, and if you find it cheaper they will match it. they also give you free rotation and balance for life.

Have you checked Sams Club? I searched around a for a while and they were the cheapest by far and they give you a warranty with free rotation and balancing for the life of the tire. I have put 10k miles on the set of bfg all terrains i have and when they went to balance it they found it out of round and they slapped a new tire on it free of charge. any other tire shop would have charged you for a new tire or you would have had to wait for the factory to decide if they want to replace it.

Keep in mind that most of the suggested places probably don't carry 19.5's, and if they do, probably not the top of the line Michelin. Truckstop type shops is what you'll be looking for, see if you can find something on the internet.
