I know similar questions have been asked like this before but everyone asks questions about specific companies. I want to know the BEST and why.

ok so i have a buddy with a 2004 6.0PSD. Has his EGT, boost, and trans temp gauges all setup and functional. And also has a turbo back exhaust.

After seeing my 02 7.3PSD with my AFE StageII intake and DP-Tuner Chip he really wants to buy a chip/downloader/tuner for his truck to keep up :D . He wants to spend no more than $500. What is the BEST one to purchase and what are the gains/ advantages of it over any other one.

i have heard a lot of good things about the SCT for 6.0

i havent dealt with it first hand on a diesel, but i have seen what you can do on a ford gas engine with the sct, and im very impressed.

I just purchased an SCT X3 from Innovative, $444 delivered, 3 of their custom tunes on it. Don't have it yet, and haven't run anything else, just telling ya what I found to be the best bang for the buck.

SCT seems to be the best, especially with custom tunes. I hope to get one soon.

Oh, and if he get a SCT with custom tunes, it will be you trying to play catch up, not him :sly

yeah, the custom tunes are burned to your specs depending on what mods you have or what your driving style is or what you plan to do; ie. race, tow, sled pull or...?

Ive got the Livewire with stock tunes and it runs well.
