Well, I got it back last night. They didn't put the HPOP connector bracket on it....

I hear something weird under the hood too at idle, but I suppose that could just be me. We'll see what happens.

bummer on the HPOP connector...just keep an "eye" on your
crank times...if you see 'em starting to get longer and longer
get it in the shop <before it strands you or sticks you w/ a tow bill>

Well, crappy news again...I picked the truck up Thursday night after shop hours and drove it straight home. I noticed the weird noise at all, but no CEL or leaks so I didn't worry too much.

I loaded all my hunting gear up Friday after I took off early from work and headed down south toward my parents' place. I didn't get but about 15 miles from the house and the CEL came on and the truck went into limp mode. So, I called the dealer and they said to bring it back...again.

I took it in at approximately 1 pm, and at 4:15 they came into the waiting room offering me a loaner car (i.e. taurus) because they had called Ford and they were told to clean and/or replace the turbo....great.

Needless to say, I was a little peeved. I went so far as to see if they had a new 6.4 on the lot that would suit me. Luckily they didn't, and the sales manager (a good friend) got me a used 06 one ton to take home since the Taurus wouldn't really carry my 4 wheeler too well.

Anyway, they called this afternoon and it's done again. They put a new Turbo on this morning and claim that it's fixed. I already have a call into my dealer halfway across the state on a new 6.4 FX4 CCSB. I'm not sold on the fuel economy on them but I can't have a truck that is in the shop all the time. I'm trying not to jump the gun on this one, but it's just killing me. We'll see what they come up with money wise on the trade with my X-plan. I suppose I may have to start a mod list on a new 08.

Thanks everyone,
Rusty

I got the truck back and I have to say I was not impressed with the techs work on it whatsoever. They left my boost gauge line right next to the turbo and it melted after about 2 minutes...nice. Nothing was cleaned up under the hood, they left the truck literally trashed with hand/finger prints/grease on my carpet, etc. And, they actually dented the top of my cab on the rack when they pulled it off the frame!

So, needless to say we discussed the issues and a new truck and I will be taking delivery of a new 08 FX4 F-250 CCSB 4x4 with the 6.4L this week. This one's getting a liner, GN hitch, tint, stereo and that's it.....That's what I'm saying now anyway :sly

The 6.0 has been a good ride, but unfortunately it was riddled with issues from the get go. Hopefully that ends with this new one, but I suppose only time will tell.

Yeah, it's very unfortunate. I wish that I didn't feel like I need to get rid of this one, but that dealer will never touch one of my rigs again. I picked up the new one from the dealer across the state where this one and my last one were both originally purchased.

We'll see how the new one does!

I get it today....

I will post up pics as soon as I can snap some.

It's a CC SB F-250 FX4. Black with Black Leather Captains Chairs, 18s (coming off in favor of aftermarket units), CD6, etc.

I'll get some pics and the build sheet posted up soon!

I really hope it does decent on fuel economy. I did a bunch of research and with the 3.73s most everyone is doing decent. Not great by any means, but decent. I mean I didn't get over 16 with this one until 40k miles, so I don't expect any more out of the new one! :D
