Ah Texas, where we are still allowed to own guns and law abiding citizens can legally carry them if we so please.

No offense to our California members or members from other Anti 2A states.:cowboy: :tex
We could be in Vermont, where there are basically no gun laws. TX_Atty, you probably have more knowledge about this than me, but I understand that you can walk down the streets in Vermont with a pistol on your hip and still be legal. It's interesting that Vermont is the home of Howard "Screamer" Dean.

If its not concealed, there are ALOT of states that allow that, Wyoming being one of them. However, be ready to be tossed out of alot of businesses if you walk in packing.

Open carry laws.

Since the topic was breached, California has less resrtictive open carry laws than Texas does.

My 2cents...
Move to Kentucky.
Get a CCW for your piece of mind.
Be careful out there since even we have Mercedes drivers.

And, really, why get out of your rig, and give some idiot a tongue lashing, regardless of how good it feels or how well he deserves it, unless you are willing to get into a deadly confrontation? Why not just drive around and be done with it? There is no reasoning with morons.

Merry Christmas :silly

sadly, we dont have open carry. It MUST be concealed. That was one of the give and take items in order to get it passed. I would much rather have it openly visible. I almost never carry because it is too cumbersome to cover. When I do carry, I inadvertantly flash every time I reach for my wallet.

that reminds me, I due for renewal. Another give and take item - I have to attend a class, pay a LOT of $, and take another shooting test. The shooting test is a joke.

Tx Atty,
I'm with you. I'd love to see Texas get open carry, but would like to have concealed stay also. Though I'd likely seldom carry openly. For my normal mode of dress, concealed is usually not a problem. And technically and incidental a flash does not violate the law as it is in an "intentional failure to conceal". Still not good though with the law as it is.

Since the topic was breached, California has less restrictive open carry laws than Texas does.

That my be somewhat true, but the remainder of their gun legislation is more restrictive to the LAW ABIDING citizens I would submit.
