my cousin is a car dealer, and he bought this chebbie in bowling green, ky yesterday.

we were lookin around on it, i popped the hood, and saw the pics below, which is a BD exhaust brake system that someone had put on the truck at some point in its life.

he ask me if it was something i could use on my truck. so my question is, would this exhaust brake work on my truck as well. or do you think that it is engineered specific to the duramax engine set-up?

knowing my cousin, he is the type that would say, "if you can use it, take it off and its yours."

whata think?

I am betting that you could use it Stephen. But I don't think that you need to really. I think that you can wire up your turbo, to act as an exhaust brake. Don't know for sure but I think that you can.

your probably right kyle, but if it was gonna be very cheap or free. i would try it.

i think tho the best way to go would be with the SCT, which Tadd at elite diesel, told me he could put in a file that would make the tow/haul mod work even better by cutting the turbo back to how it performs just idling, something like that anyways.

Free or very cheap is the best way to have it. Bama, even if you didn't like it you could always re-sell it.

I have installed a BD on a 6.0... It lasted about 2 hours on the truck and we removed it and sent it back!
