I am working on the truck as I as I have time. I will have the one side done tomorrow and the torque info is a time saver for me.

Anyone reading this use caution when torquing the ball joints. It is ball joint manufacturer specific and must be done in sequentially in steps upper/lower.

I just tighten them to MFG specs in what ever sequence I choose. Works for me over 35 years.

I got the job done. It wasn't bad at all. However about the torque I think the bottom has to be torqued first inorder to get the upper stud in position. Then tightnen the upper cinch bolt.

Per the Ford manuals, for my 2000 4x4, it goes like this.

1st- Bottom Joint: 35 lb/ft
2nd-Top Joint: 69 lb/ft
3rd and final- Bottom Joint: 150 lb/ft

This sequence is also correct for Moogs. Different ball joint manufacturer's may or may not have a specs different than this.

This IS important, but obviously some folks get away with doing it incorrectly. I have heard of others that had drivability issues when incorrectly torqued. Subsequent re-torquing solved their issues.

Its not like I would go back and take it apart and re-do it if I were you. I would imagine you will be fine.
