I see them all the time around here. Had one a few years back sit in a tree right beside where we were duck hunting.

6 or 7 years ago when I was living in Iowa I had my boat out on the Mississippi river (I lived about a mile away). I was running along about 40 MPH enjoying myself when I caught something out of the corner of my eye and before I could even react I had a beautiful Bald Eagle swoop right across the bow of my boat, only about 10 feet from where I was driving. My boat was only a 20 foot open bow runabout, so it was close. Luckily no people ( I had people in the bow) or the eagle were hurt.
