Hello all: I just received a call from the shop I had my '04 Excursion towed to for a no start issue. He says I have an injector "sucking oil" and recommends I take it to the dealer due to the labor involved. What could he be talking about.?

I guess it could be possible for the injector to have mechanical damage where it is dumping oil into the cylinder ('sucking' the oil from the oil log). If enough oil is sucked out of the log, it would drop oil pressure and could prevent the engine from starting. :dunno That is my guess. Maybe someone else could chime in and help out a bit.

Hmm, now that I think about it, this could be causing the same problem I am having (crank, no start, good ICP, good IPR operation, no high pressure oil leaks, good fuel pressure, good oil level).

Hmm, now that I review a cutaway of an injector, I am not sure there could be enough damage to cause that much oil to get sucked out of the log.
