That is the one according to Ford. Keep the old one in your glove compartment.

Dave

My "old one"....the one I just took out.... is the recalled version that ford installed about this time last year. I guess its another version of the replacement cps

Keep it if it works. I have heard stories of people getting stranded along side of a road at night, and got the truck going by using the old CPS. I have never had any CPS problems with my past truck, but it was the OBS and not computer controlled.

Yea, its in my glove box now. Sometimes I wish I had my 96 engine in mine. It never gave me any problems from the fuel system.... sensors....turbo..... Biggest thing I had to do to the engine is replace the head gasket and wiring harness at 500,000 miles. And now its getting new injectors at 580,000. I saw a truck just like it in texarkana for $4,000....96 F250, 2x4, 117,00 miles, long bed, ext cab, XLT, Ford blue. If I had the money I would have bought it and set this one to the side as a play truck.

all i can say is you really know your truck if you do notice that rammertide. from what iv'e read and seen on my buddies 95 7.3, it could be the cps.

Also,
My buddy with his 95 is/will be in the process of rebuilding his turbo, just changed out his CPS to fix a hiccup he had every once in a while, replaced his fuel bowl valve o-rings, and still has a fuel leak that needs to be fixed. so, you may have had a great OBS that did great and most of them are trouble-free if taken care of. but just goes to show that every truck can have problems, and after you work out the kinks, you'll end up with a pretty reliable truck.
