No don't take apart the GEM. Less than 1 amp is the computer and memory drawing power for sleeping (off). This is normal.
I had the alternator checked supposably it's good going to have starter checked tommorow just wondering how to narrow it down instead of just throwing money in it

Start unplugging things on those circuits to see when the draw stops.
Example, try unplugging the GEM. Those things do have a tendency to get wet from windshield leaks.

That would be why I suggested taking the GEM apart. Granted I haven't done it on the Super Duty. I've done it on the 06 Mustang a couple times thanks to Ford's idea to mount it by a water drain. The case splits apart pretty easily.

I think it's supposed to be in the milliamp range. Was that after letting the truck sit and the GEM shutting down? Still, you're heading in the right direction if you went from 4 amps to 1.

Hopefully that is miliamps. Lol
Reason I was saying unplug one at a time, then you could narrow what's causing it.
You could also try relays. Like the pcm relay.

I had to change the cable from the battery to the alternator. It was NOT charging but it was draining. Really screwed up electronics.
