Those pictures are INCREDIBLE. I thought the park was closed in the winter. How does it work? Do you just go and plan on a good chance of being snowed in for a few days or ?? Do you snowshoe around instead of hiking or ??

We've been there but always in the summer and I HATE the crowds . . .is it as crowded this time of year?

Snowmobile!! It's awesome......you must have a guide and there's a park pass you must obtain before they will let you in. I bought the annual pass for me and the wife and it was 50.00 but gets us into any National Park where there's an entrance fee.

Do you have your own snowmibile or did you rent? If rent how much? Is it required you have a guide or just a good idea. I have been to the park quite a bit on the roads and with GPS I would think I could figure it out. Those pictures are great, I especially like the cabin. Is that where you stayed?

The snowmobile rental was part of the tour price, basically a photo tour by snowmobile and was pretty much all inclusive, meals, snowmobile, lodging, guide. In the park the snowmobiles must be 4 stroke, and you must have a certified guide, this is really for your safety and the wildlifes as well, plus with 4-6 feet of snow covering everything it just a good idea.

I wish, that would have too awesome!! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in the town of West Yellowstone, very nice, great breakfast smorgasboard, friendly staff and only about 2 miles from the West entrance to the park.

Here's the folks who did our tour, Gerlach Nature Photography

Thanks for the info! I've had the wife add it to our "must do in our lifetime" list of vacations. :)
