A lot of the trucks I've been looking at haves a few aux switches by the brake controller. Just wondering if someone could tell me what they're for.

#1 is my long range driving lights, # 2 is aux back up lights and #4 is high idle mod.
The SDD WIKI has an article about wiring these up. Its geared towards installing them if you don't already have them but if you get a truck that already has them you can skip directly to the wiring starting on the step "Switch".

What is the high idle mod for? Just wondering

Warming up the engine (heater) when cold - or - keeping the cab cool (AC) when hot.
