Aux Switches

I was attempting to hook somthing up to my Aux switches today and I can't seem to figure out where the wires from the back of the switches go to.. Has anyone hooked into the Aux switches and if so how the heck to you go about doing this???? I pulled the hole thing out of the dash hoping that maybe I could by-pass the wiring harness and just hook directly to one of the switches but that didn't work..... anyway any help is appreciated
