AutoEnginuity Software is Great!!

When I bought the 2000 F350 a couple of years ago I bought a software package called AutoEnginuity and it has the extra module for the Ford diesels and trans and such and has been very helpful when the check engine light flashes now and then and it runs on my laptop (also for PDAs). Well the other day my wife's 2003 Deville DTS had the Service Engine Soon light come on so I called the company and asked if I needed any extra software and the fellow said no, that ALL ODB-2 computer checks for ALL models that were ODB-2 compliant are included! So today I hooked it up and there is was, lean fuel on both banks, probably from the cheap gas we have been buying so I cleared the codes and went and put some 92 octane in it and so far so good.

I was going to post this in the computer section, but I figured more people would see it here and it is a pretty handy tool to have.

Thanks, that was what I was also thinking but so far I am trying to not have to get beneath all that stuff that GM has covering the engine?! If the codes pop up again then I'll have to start digging.....

It was a vacuum leak. The codes popped up again and I did some searching on the Cadillac form and there was a reference to the rubber elbow in the PCV line. Sure enough it was split about half way around causing extra air which got the computer confused. I replaced it with a length of kevlar reenforced hose from the race car and also wire tied the long metal section to some other solid mounted lines and it should be good to go now. I thought it strange that the metal tube section, about a foot long, was left to flop around? Maybe it is one of those built in "dealer $$$$ makers" that I have heard about, or just stupidity?
