Try drilling a small hole in the bottom of the filter or center punch a small hole in the filter. Works like a charm.


Somebody showed me that a while ago, it's a GREAT tip!!

Get yoruself like a small center punch and hammer it up in the center of it. Just pull the punch out and watch it drain. It helps if you start to remove the filter, when the seal separates from the base it allows air in so more oil can drain out. When it is done draining just remove the filter.

Do the 7.3L engines have a normal spin on filter?

on a side note, i ran over my creeper after an oil change...it was totaled. No more than 2 of the 6 wheels ever touched the ground at the same time again.
